About Voyent Alert!

The Village of Haines Junction is using the Voyent Alert service to alert the community to local emergencies and service disruptions such as:

  • Boil water advisories
  • Water line breaks
  • Changes to regularly scheduled landfill hours of operation
  • Road closures
  • Emergency evacuation alerts
  • Emergency evacuation orders

These types of events require us to be able to connect with you to share important information and when appropriate, provide timely updates as things change.

It is our goal to have every resident in the community signed up to receive updates from this service.

Register to receive alerts

If you register to for Voyent Alert:

  • The system will notify you about issues that may affect your day-today activities.  When a critical incident occurs, such as a fire breaking out close to the community or when a major disaster occurs that requires evacuation of your current location, alerts will provide essential safety information including evacuation routes.
  • You can choose how you receive alerts.  You can receive alerts by an automated phone call, a text message and/or an email. You can register as many ways to be contacted as you like.
  • This service is free of charge – you do not need to pay to receive this service.
  • You must register to receive alerts. The only information you must provide to register is your postal code and your phone number or email. Providing your address will ensure you receive neighborhood-level service disruptions as well as community-wide alerts.
  • You will not be bombarded with useless messages – the Village manages all communications sent through this system and will only send messages that pertain to local emergencies and service disruptions.
  • This system does not replace Yukon government’s Yukon-wide emergency alert system that sends alerts to cell phones (LTE and 5G), local radio and tv. You will continue to receive notifications through this system.   This system was tested on May 7th.  If you did not receive this test alert you should fill out the survey at www.alertready.ca

If you would like to sign up, you can either register directly with Voyent Alert or print out the registration form and mail, email or drop it off at the Village office.
