Funding Opportunities

NEW!! Community Culture, Arts, Recreation and Environment (C-CARE) Fund

On September 24, 2025, Council approved a new program to provide funding for culture arts, recreation and environmental programming and events. The vision of the program is to support and enhance individual and collective growth and well-being within our community.  Programs and events supported by this program will:

  1. Support community diversity and inclusion.
  2. Promote volunteerism.
  3. Foster community engagement and/or active living.
  4. Foster collaboration and partnerships.
  5. Contribute to either: community social or economic development, or cultural or environmental sustainability.
  6. Have a measurable, beneficial impact.

*Call for Program Committee Members

We are looking for interested community members to join our Program Committee! 

  • Committee members will be provided with a $200 honoraria to participate in a half-day evaluation meeting, and a $200 honoraria to prepare for an evaluation meeting. Evaluation meetings will occur twice/year. 
  • Interested in applying? Please read the Program Committee Terms of Reference to gain an understanding of the time commitment and mandate of the Committee.  
  • How to apply: send an email to corporate@hainesjunction.ca explaining why you are interested in joining the committee, and your relevant experience.

Donated Refundables Fund:

The Village of Haines Junction Recycle Centre accepts donated refundable items throughout the year. The refund money collected is held in a Donated Refundables fund to be awarded on an annual basis to eligible groups, as per the Donation of Refundable Items Policy #31-20.

Lottery Funding:
The Village of Haines Junction receives funding from Lotteries Yukon through the Community Lottery Program for community arts, sport and recreation projects. Beginning in 2020, all applications must be fully completed and submitted to the Village Office by April 15 or October 15 (Deadline will be extended to the next business day if it falls on a weekend or federal holiday).You are welcome to submit a draft application for comments well before the deadline.
